Jivkar Seeds Limited is a fully integrated seeds enterprise operating across three core pillars: Research & Development, Processing, and Marketing. Over 25+ years, the company has maintained end-to-end control over seed quality — from the collection of genetic material to the delivery of certified packaged seeds across India.
The company bridges the gap between natural genetic diversity and commercial agricultural production by identifying, stabilising, and multiplying high-performing seed varieties suited for Indian farming conditions.
Core Mission
To develop genetically stable, high-performing seed varieties through rigorous field research and multi-year breeding programs — delivering quality-certified seeds to Indian farmers season after season.
Quality Certification & Testing
Once the Nuclear Seed (Mother Plant) is produced as a foundation seed, it is used for seed multiplication through growers. Every seed batch must undergo rigorous certification and quality testing before being accepted by Jivkar Seeds.
Certification is conducted by qualified plant breeders with advanced agricultural expertise and field experience, ensuring strict compliance with industry quality standards.
Germination Test
Measures the percentage of seeds that successfully germinate under standard testing conditions.
- Field Testing: Maximum 7 Days
- Lab Testing: Maximum 5 Days
Physical Purity Test
Evaluates seed lots for foreign matter, damaged seeds, impurities, and off-type seeds.

- Lab Testing: In-hand Test
Grow Out Test (GOT)
Seeds are cultivated and observed to verify varietal purity and true-to-type characteristics.
- Field Testing: 21 to 60 Days
- Lab Testing: 7 to 10 Days
Certification Outcome
Seed batches that successfully pass all quality parameters are approved and moved into cold or general warehouse storage. Lots that fail certification are strictly rejected and are not accepted by Jivkar Seeds for distribution.
